Africa is rapidly becoming a key player in the global economy and international affairs, projected to have the largest and youngest population by 2030, accounting for 42% of the global youth. This demographic shift, along with a significant digital transformation—marked by internet penetration doubling from 2017 to 2022 and smartphone adoption anticipated to reach 87% by 2030—creates substantial opportunities for African entrepreneurs and business leaders to establish the continent as a hub for innovation and problem-solving on the global stage.
Despite its immense potential, Africa currently receives less than 2% of global venture funding, while approximately 18 million jobs need to be created annually for new labour market entrants. Oyin Solebo is a leader in addressing these challenges through her work in African venture capital, startup acceleration, and corporate innovation. Committed to mobilizing human and financial capital, she drives economic development across the continent. The solutions emerging from Africa have the power to foster both economic and social progress, but unlocking this potential requires increased capital investment and a focus on nurturing the continent's growing talent pool.
As Managing Director at Techstars, Oyin Solebo successfully launched and led the ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator, a partnership designed to support fintech startups. This accelerator combines Techstars' global investment expertise with ARM Labs' local innovation initiatives.

Oyin later joined Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where she played a key role in launching operations in Sub-Saharan Africa before returning to London as Managing Director for several family offices.
